A solenoid valve
is an automatic valve controlled by an electric current through
an electromagnetic coil (solenoid), and it is used to regulate the
flow of liquids or gases.
A solenoid valve
functions like an automatic switch that determines whether a fluid (such
as water, air, oil, or gas) is allowed to flow or not. When electric current is
applied to the solenoid, a magnetic field is generated, which pulls a plunger
(a small metal rod) inside the valve. This movement of the plunger opens
or closes the flow path, depending on the valve type (Normally Closed or
Normally Open).
